Chemo Journey

Help an artist in need!

This June, I’m proud to be debuting my first solo exhibition in Mexico City at Almanaque Fotográfica, a gallery I’ve admired for nearly a decade. The show is called Turn On the Light, and it’s the most personal work I’ve ever created — a visual reflection on finding hope during one of the darkest chapters of my life: my recent journey through cancer and chemotherapy.

At the beginning of January, I was diagnosed with testicular cancer and had to get emergency surgery for a tumor. The surgery went well, but my blood levels still showed traces of cancer, meaning I then had to go through chemotherapy treatment for three months, wrapping up in mid-April.

The surgery in January cost $10,000, and the chemotherapy cost another $25,000, so needless to say, it is a financially stressful time for me right now. While my costs are manageable for this upcoming show, it’s on the heels of so many medical expenses. I would love it if you considered donating below – any amount helps!

Anyone who contributes $1,000 or more will be recognized on the gallery wall as an Exhibition Patron — a personal thank-you from me in the heart of the show. 💛

Beyond direct donations, I would also be beyond happy if you considered buying an artwork or merchandise! While there are production costs in that case, that is very much balanced out by the joy it brings me when someone has one of my artworks in their home.
